Pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern Table/Desk Lamps 'Area 50' by Mario Bellini
-
Description
Visionary pieces of Italian Mid-Century Modern design.
Mario Bellini's 'Area' lighting series for Artemide in the mid-1970s was a move away from traditional Modernism with purely sober lines and rational philosophy. It's parchment-like shade incorporated a strong element of fantasy, a vision of what was to come in the Postmodern 1980s and the emergence of the Memphis Design Group. Area 50 is also available as a standing lamp. This series is out of production.
Uses 1 Edison socket and is ideally suited for silver tipped reflector bulb. Sold by the pair. -
