Description
Rare ceiling light Cynthia designed by Mario Marenco for Artemide in 1968
Marenco graduated in architecture in 1957, in Naples, obtaining research scholarships in Stockholm and Chicago. In 1960 he opened his own architecture and design studio: the DEGW Studio, based in Rome. His activity in these sectors is demonstrated by projects developed for known industries: the aluminum chandelier with references to the Op art Cynthia, distributed in 1960 by Artemide, the Marenco sofa from 1970, designed for Arflex according to modular concepts, and in 1984 the Movie armchair, in the catalog for Poltrona Frau. Marenco also collaborated with the most important Italian car manufacturers for the realization of their exhibition stands. -
