Matteo Thun and Andrea Lera, "Chicago Tribune" Floor Lamp for Bieffeplast, 1984
-
Description
Very nice floor lamp model Chicago Tribune designed by Matteo Thun and Andrea Lera in 1984 for Bieffeplast Padua, Italy.
The floor lamp consists of grey and silver enameled metal and a perforated shade.
Three neon tubes illuminate this floor lamp.
The condition is excellent.
Matteo Thun: born 1952 in Bolzano, Italy
He was associated with the Memphis design group until 1984, and his lamps though dramatic in one sense, also reflect the playful ''this is fun'' touch that marks so many of the Memphis pieces. Laser-drilled perforations in painted steel give a geometrically futuristic look to this amazing lamp; the light shining through perforations adds to the effect of skyline drama. -
