Mazzega Mid-Century Modern Murano Interlocking Amber and White Glass Chandelier
-
Description
This stunning Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized by the fabled Italian glass studio, Mazzega, in Murano, circa 1970. It features an abundance of interlocking three-sided geometric glass shades in translucent amber and semi-opaque white glass with an abundance of minuscule bubbles suggesting the quality of effervescent water. The shades descend, linked in a chain formation to those above, and are arranged in two tiers, imbuing the piece with a subtle dynamism. On the interior of the fixture, six-brass rods of staggered lengths descend culminating in Edison based bulbs. With its inimitably Italian Mid-Century Modern sensibility and clean modernist form, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior. It has been newly rewired to American standards. The height can be adjusted to suit. It accommodates six Edison based bulbs providing up to 600 watts of light. Excellent condition. Italy, circa 1970.
