Mid-Century Modern Rectilinear Hand Blown Smoked Amber Glass "Mosaic" by Mazzega
-
Description
This elegant and refined Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized by the legendary atelier, Mazzega, in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for its superlative glass production- circa 1970. It features an abundance of handblown Murano translucent rectilinear shards- each offering a rich and unique organic texture- realized in a beautiful smoked amber hue. The pieces attach to a circular white enamel base via fine oval link chain in stainless steel, and presented at staggered lengths imbuing the piece with a subtle dynamism. Seen together the pieces create a cohesive image, appearing as a mosaic of smoked amber elements. With its sophisticated and idiosyncratic form, and beautiful hand blown Murano glass, this piece is as versatile as it is stunning, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
