This graphic and elegant atomic Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Italy, circa 1950. It features a black enamel body that tapers at its top and bottom banded in the center in brass from which eight spokes emanate capped with candelabra bulbs housed in conical brass coverings. An atomic form glass shelf with scalloped sides and etched and frosted banding detailing circumscribing the perimeter of the glass sits below the sputnik body of the chandelier. The glass piece is secured with a brass atomic form support that reiterates the form of the glass as well as a conical brass canopy. With its beautiful attention to detailing and clean modernist lines, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates eight candelabra based bulbs offering up to 480 watts of light. It is in excellent vintage condition.
