This elegant Mid Century Modern wall sconce was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- circa 1950. It features a handlbown Murano class shade with a braided spine and a wave form top in channeled textural translucent Murano glass. The Murano glass shade attaches to the rectangular backplate via a channeled support and cylindrical arm in polished brass. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful glass quality, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition.
