This stunning Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a rectangular polished brass backplate with six cylindrical rods descending downwards from its center, as well as an abundance of bronze chains that each attach to undulating hour glass form translucent Murano glass shades with a subtle striated texture. The shades are presented in two rows of staggered heights imbuing the piece with dynamism and verve. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful quality of construction, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates six candelabra based bulbs offering up to 360 watts of light. The sockets are LED compatible and dimmable.
