Mid-Century Modern Smoked Murano Glass Abstracted Floral Form Chandelier

This stunning and graphic chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy, the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production, circa 1970. It features six smoked Murano glass shades, resembling abstracted flower petals, that cantilever from the central stem before descending culminating in a rounded nadir. The Edison based bulb surrounded by these petal forms is housed in a translucent spherical Murano glass bubble of textured glass suggesting effervescent water. The chandelier has chrome fittings throughout, including the cylindrical stem and convex canopy. With its wonderful craftsmanship (evident throughout), and clean modernist lines, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier is in excellent vintage condition.
