Mid-Century Modernist Frosted Glass and Curved Walnut Pendant with Brass Fitting

This elegant Mid-Century Modern pendant was realized in France circa 1960. It features three volumetric ovoid shades in a matte milk glass pierced through with cylindrical brass supports near their bases. The shades are affixed to brass arms that adjoin vertical rods of the same Material and are attached to curved demilune walnut embellishments that artfully wraparound the shades. The arms of the pendant attach to a central cylindrical stem in black enamel, running up to a tear drop form canopy in the same Material, circumscribed in brass at its base. With its elevated organic sensibility, clean modernist lines and beautiful craftsmanship, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. It accommodates three candelabra based bulbs offering up to 180 watts of light. The height can be adjusted to suit.
