This sophisticated Mid Century Modern swing arm sconce was realized in France circa 1960. It features a cylindrical bracket that attaches to the wall from which a sinuously curved elongated "s" form support extends out culminating in a conical hessin cloth shade with an hourglass embellishment above- all in beautiful hand rubbed teak. With its classic Mid Century Modern aesthetic- homey, organic and refined- and iconic forms of the period (undulating curves, geometric details), this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of the period, as well as those with a penchant for unique and special objects. Its refined color plate and clean modernist lines ensure that it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition.
