A well-chosen lighting piece can change the overall look of a room and how it feels to be in that room. Historically, chandeliers would hang in the foyer or dining room, however, nowadays, a chandelier is often placed in smaller rooms or even a bathroom to set the aesthetic impression of the space.

This mid-century chandelier has a fairly traditional look and materials with elements that make it unique. The combination of brass and glass was especially characteristic of Scandinavian designers of the era as the brass shines beautifully when the light is on. This model’s design revolves around its six glass globes arranged on a single tier. At the same time, what distinguishes it from the rest is the black cluster with the subtle scalloped ornamentation made of brass. To leave the focus on this element, the canopy, the slip ring and the tubing are all quite understated. As a result, the design is well-balanced. The base shape is quite traditional as well with upward facing lightbulbs and curved arms, arranged symmetrically. The globes brighten up the brass’s colour when lit, and distribute the light evenly. The design is very successful at mixing traditional and modern elements while staying true to the guiding principles of mid-century modernism.

While lighting fixtures go in and out of style, some chandeliers will always look in style. This brass model is one such design; thanks to its timeless aesthetic and quality, it can look good with various furniture pieces and styles.
