This stunning pair of modernist sconces were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. In dialogue with the historical designs of the great atelier of Barovier e Toso, this pair of sconces offer urn form shades in opaque white glass embedded with dense constellations of murines. The shades appear cinched at their bases by a lustrous brass band from which a spherical finial descends. The Murano glass shades attach to rectilinear backplates also in brass. With their clean modernist lines and beautiful glass quality, these sconces are as beautiful as they are versatile, blending with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
