Pair of Modernist Stacked Sphere Table Lamps in Amber & Translucent Murano Glass

Description
This stunning pair of modernist table lamps were hand blown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- during the latter half of the 20th century. They feature volumetric rectilinear bases in translucent Murano glass sitting on polished brass feet that support totemic rectangular bodies- composed of stacked cubic forms- also in clear Murano glass. In the center of each of these cubic forms are amber spheres that perfectly complement the brass detailing throughout, and offers a brilliant tonal counterpoint to the ethereal aesthetic of the translucent glass. With its clean modernist lines, refined color palate and beautiful craftsmanship, these lamps would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition. The lamps come fitted with custom shades and accommodate two Edison based bulbs each offering up to 400 watts of light for the pair.
