Description
An exquisite example of the most imposing neoclassical style. Of French origin, made in the 19th century, they represent two maidens or caryatids who hold the lamp in an imposing manner. Made of beautiful patinated bronze, this type of lamps, known as torchère or torchero, are especially popular in the European neoclassical style of the 19th century. It is an elegant example of craftsmanship and mastery of materials. With two elegant and regal women, different from each other, and made in the style of the Val d'Osne foundry; which popularized this typology inspired by the classical Greco-Roman models that decorated the most opulent noble houses, casinos, cafes and salons of the 19th century.
