'BOREALIS', pendant light
-
Description
BOREALIS is the large basin in the Northern hemisphere of planet Mars that covers 40% of the planet. This Martian inspired pendant lamp is constructed solely of acrylic pieces. Its complexity pushes the boundaries of a typical spherical pendant light and its geometry allows to create a diffusing light that emenates a warm and unique ambient.
Borealis can be placed alone or stylishly and playfully combined with other Borealis lamps pending in different heights creating a whole new setting in any space.
The BOREALIS pendant lamp is constructed in the geometric shape of an Icosahedron, a polyhedron with 20 faces. In his prolific work, Pedro Cerisola (Mexico) combines advanced technology with highly skilled craftsmanship. His objects are created researching the beauty of geometric constructive principles found in nature and how these systems can be applied to the design and fabrication of modular structures. Cerisola's work is in the permanent collection of the University Museum of Sciences in Mexico City and has been exhibited at the Museo Rufino Tamayo, Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, the Franz Mayer Design Museum, at Wanted Design in New York, Zona Maco Mexico City and private galleries. -
