A truly elegant and rare table lamp by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, Italy, c.1940. Sitting on a circular, eau de nil Fontana Arte glass base, a fluted nickel and brass stem supports a stunning diamond-cut glass diffuser with painted aluminium cover. The beautifully designed circular diffuser can tilt up to a maximum of 45 degrees in order to re-direct the light where necessary. Completely re-wired with brown cotton flex, the lamp has three lamp holders within the fitting...these are accessed beneath the painted-aluminium cover. A stunning collector's piece from this prestigious Milanese company.
