Roger Capron French figural ceramic table lamp. Original oval burlap shade. The clay gres is rubbed with iron oxides which penetrate into the incised drawing.
The lamp is unglazed thus in the firing the iron oxides in the incised drawing burn to the dark lines.

The figure could be either woman or man, sometimes called a figure with upraised arms similar to the image in Literature, Roger Capron, Pierre Staudenmeyer, Norma Editions Ceramist p 105.
Overall height with shade is 31.5" h.
Shade is 15.75" w x 10" h.
The ceramic lamp itself is 15" h x 9" w x 4" d. -
