Description
Stilnovo Wall Light 232 by Bruno Gatta, Italy, 1962
Wall lamp designed by Bruno Gatta for Stilnovo, Italy, 1960's. The fixture features a red metal shade with a brass arm and an off-white wall mount. The large circular diffuser softly reflects light against the wall, creating an atmospheric glow. The design is both sculptural and functional, typical of Stilnovo’s approach to modern lighting.
Bruno Gatta co-founded Stilnovo in 1946, a company that became one of Italy’s leading lighting manufacturers. Unlike some of its competitors, Stilnovo focused on a balance between industrial production and refined design. Gatta’s work often played with geometric forms and indirect lighting, as seen in this piece.
With its minimalist construction and strong visual presence, this lamp reflects the mid-century Italian movement where form followed function without excess ornamentation. An excellent example of Stilnovo’s timeless aesthetic.
