A RICHLY CUT CRYSTAL CHANDELIER BY F&C OSLER, NO.2765

The baluster shaped stem with canopy of shepherd crooks scrolls draped with festoons of spangles and very handsome pendants. The long sweeping thumb cut candle arms mounted with diamond cut drip pans hung with Osler's signature drumstick drops, supporting richly cut hurricane shades. The lower stem section with elaborately cut sphere and diamond cut finial.
This chandelier is of the finest quality and of an elaborate design with many different styles of glass cutting, it features in F&C Osler's Calcutta catalogue dated 1893.
The chandelier is listed as No 2765 with a foot note stating 'A SUPERB CHANDELIER', available with either 8 or 12 lights with the original cost in Rupees.

The line drawing for this chandelier was taken from F & C Osler Calcutta Catalogue dated 1893, many of Osler's designs were consistently made over a 30 year period as this pattern also appears in a catalogue of 1903.
