An early and rare original Tiffany Studios Table Lamp, comprising a 20-inch diameter example of the "Peacock" shade, featuring richly colored variegated streaky Tiffany glass in shades of blue, orange, teal and purple, in an all-over motif of stylized peacock feathers. The shade rests on a bronze "Peacock" table base with rich chased detailing, including inset Tiffany Favrile Glass in the base, the leading and bronze in a rich brown/green patina. This original Tiffany lamp has an original bronze reticulated heat cap in matching finish. Both the shade and the base are signed.

The vibrant plumage of the peacock’s tail feathers was a consistent source of artistic inspiration for Louis Comfort Tiffany; the bird was frequently included in landscape window commissions, while motifs based on the abstracted feathers appear on everything from Tiffany Lamps to a series of Favrile Glass vases and more.
