Italian architect, artist, designer and theorist born in 1938, Ugo La Pietra was active since 60s in research for the definition of balanced relationships between man and the environment, he founded and was a member of avant-garde groups such as Cenobio, Radical Design and Global Tools. In these areas of investigation he has organized numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including many solo shows, transferring the main theoretical reflections into important writings. In addition to his intense teaching activities, in 1980 he became editor of Domus magazine. He has received numerous prizes and awards including the Compasso d'oro in 1979. As a designer, numerous are his collaborations with Italian companies.
Here we have a very peculiar floor lamp first designed by Ugo La Pietra in 1977 and produced again in 2007 by Lumen Center Edizioni. This lamp belongs to the "Arcangeli Metropolitani" series and is made in painted iron structure and hand-painted plexiglass wings.
