French Art Deco Four Arm Rose Glass Cubist Stylized Floral Signed by Degué
-
Description
This elegant Art Deco chandelier was realized by the esteemed atelier of Degué circa 1930. It features four conical pressed rose glass shades with channel detailing and stylized rose motifs that taper gently to their top. They are suspended from silvered bronze arms that cantilever from the volumetric pentagonal body with rose glass shades replete with a wealth of cubist motifs. These motifs including geometric forms, stylized cross hatching and floral motifs also recur on the silvered bronze body of the chandelier. The fixture attaches to a square canopy via a chain. With its beautiful glass quality and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards. The chandelier accommodates five European based bulbs offering up to 200 watts of light.
It is signed "Degué France" on every panel and is in excellent vintage condition.
France, circa 1930
