Max Idlas was born in Marseilles, France, in 1932 and moved to Paris in the 1950s to live in the artistic centre at Saint Germain des Pres. He opened his first ceramics workshop in Montparnasse in 1965. In 1956-1999 he exhibited at the 'Salon des Ateliers d' Art'.
