18th Century Italian Baroque Carved Gilded Wood Oval Wall Mirror

Description
Very important beautiful and elegant oval wall mirror of the period baroque, 1750. Made entirely of carved and gilded wood with gold leaf. The rich carving decoration with volutes and acanthus leaves that curl up on the front is called "cartoccio". The mirror is antique coeval with mercury and therefore has defects that do not allow a good reflection of the image.
