-
Description
Absolutely spectacular Tramp Art mirror from the beginning of the 20th century in Austria. Elaborately hand carved out of basswood around 1900, this incredible looking rustic wall mirror comes with protruding corners and a beautiful dark brown stained surface. The main frame impresses with its extraordinary handcarved notch cut patterns, artfully arranged in the so-called "pyramid" technique. A fantastic highlight of this early 20th century antique wall mirror are definitely the exceptional crafted stars in each corner which are additionally adorned by the still original white porcelain half spheres. The doubled frame with unique carved bars on the outside makes this one of a kind Tramp Art mirror an absolute gem in our highly sought after Tramp Art collection. A handforged metal ring on the backside makes wall mounting easy. The mirror plate has been renewed during the restoration process.
