A Large Gilt and Eagle Decorated Convex Mirror
-
Description
This mirror retains much of its original gilding and is an early example, probably from the late 1790s. The four candle arms, balls and chains and all decorative elements are original although the convex mirror element has been either replaced or very well resilvered.
Coming from a very well regarded private collection the mirror has a provenance to the London dealer Jeremy, Ltd. in the 1980s and Vernay and Jussel before it was placed in a New York private collection by 1990.
