Cristal Art rare large round intricately engraved and gilded pressed glass wall mirror, Italy, 1960s. This exquisite mirror has a lovely mirrored glass border composed of a beautifully designed Bohemian-type pattern with scroll-engraved and gilded segmented pressed glass decorations, and a thick brass frame surrounding the entire mirrored glass. This rare model exemplifies the intense artistry of engraved glass which involves using abrasive tools to create intricate patterns and designs on the surface of the glass. The result is a stunning and sophisticated interplay of textures, patterns and depths.
