Description
A French Napoléon III painted trumeau mirror from the late 19th century, with oil on canvas floral painting. Created in France at the end of Emperor Napoléon III's reign, this large trumeau mirror charms us with its exquisite decor and painted scene. Showcasing a linear painted frame flanked with Doric style pilasters, the mirror is accented with a lovely carved decor depicting an urn, flaming torches, ribbon-tied garlands and foliage. It is the upper panel however that draws us in, with its oil on canvas still-life painting depicting a luscious bouquet presented outdoors in a bronze vase.
