-
Description
This French Empire mantle mirror (c. 1800) shows very careful surface decoration, the gold gilt molding is largely plain and smooth, with tight feather and foliate carvings placed at regular intervals along the perimeter. The original mirror plate reveals a haze of foxing at variable density, including some loss of the foil. View the detailed images.
