-
Description
A mid-19th century French Baroque style carved giltwood mirror featuring an intricate laurel leaf design surrounding the inner frame. The original mercury plate is framed by a larger outer border adorned with deeply carved acanthus leaves and scrollwork. The openwork top crest and apron reflect the exuberance of the Baroque aesthetic, with minor gilt losses and age-appropriate patina. The elaborate carvings and gilding show wear consistent with the mirror’s age and provenance.
