Italian Modernist Ramati Shield Mirror by Vetreria Bonardi
-
Description
Specchi Ramati "Copper Mirrors" wall mirror composed of a brass shield-form frame with wooden backing produced by Vetreria Bonardi in Rome (ca. 1960s, Italy).
As the label suggests, the glazier used the formula of French designer, Roger Duprey, to make the glass, which is a method analogous to that of metalsmithing (hence "Ramati," or "Copper" being the name of this particular line of mirrors). Though, the glass bears no tint or resemblance to copper.
Brass shows some spotting/discoloration consistent with age/use. Glass is in excellent, vintage condition.
Sourced in Naples, Italy.
