This exquisite chinoiserie reverse hand painted glass, gilt and églomisé mirror was realized by the esteemed American producer, La Barge, circa 1980. The piece features two chromed and reeded rectangular frames with a gilded hand painted chinoiserie motifs in the centre. These depictions are culled from ancient Chinese scroll paintings and include renderings of cherry blossoms, irises, ancient bridges and stylized clouds among other leitmotifs. The inner chrome reeded rectangular form encompasses bevelled mirror. With its beautiful attention to detail and clean modernist form, this piece is as versatile as it is elegant, blending perfectly with any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. It is signed by the artist "H. Van Dyke" and dated 1983. This mirror is in excellent vintage condition, and can be oriented horizontally or vertically.
