Rare Signed and Dated LaBarge Vintage Hand Reverse Painted Chinoiserie Mirror

This fantastic mirror was made in the 1980s in the Chinoiserie style by LaBarge, a prestigious mirror manufacturer at the time. This rare horizontal model in particular is built to the point of overengineered. Made of an anodized aluminum serrated edge frame, the interior of the frame is lined in deep black. Many patterns, including gold and polychrome butterflies, birds, wisteria and other florals were then reverse-painted onto sheets of glass which lay over the base black coat. This is made functional by a handsome bevelled edge mirror. Even the back is reinforced with cut wood slabs rather than a simple paper cover or plywood. All this makes for a super solid and beautifully styled mirror that would be attractive in any modern or classical home. Signed "Harrison 86" in lower right corner.

In very good vintage condition. Few signs of light and normal wear.
