Elegant French Period Louis XIV elaborately carved giltwood mirror, the crest decorated with feathers emanating from a crown, a crossed torch and quiver with arrows atop a bow, a beaded inner border, the outer border with acanthus leaves. Original mirror plate with silver mercury losses but still clear.
This type of mirror would usually hang over a console or piece of furniture of the same width. These mirrors would signify social aspirations and cultural refinement of the period. -
