-
Description
A French Louis XV period painted and gilded mirror from the mid 18th century, with carved crest, petite tassels and grisaille harbor scene. Created in France during the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed Le Bien-Aimé (the Beloved), this wall mirror captures our attention with its carved ribbon-tied crest showcasing an oval medallion surrounding a peaceful grisaille harbor scene. Accented with petite beads, leaves and tassels, the upper section sits above a rectangular frame adorned with volutes and petite pinecones in the lower section. With its perfectly complimenting colors and skillfully painted motifs, this Louis XV vertical mirror circa 1760 will bring a touch of undeniable elegance to any home, perhaps hung above a commode, side table or buffet.
