Pair of Louis XVI Style, Large Wall or Floor Mirrors, Giltwood, Gesso, Europe, 19th C.
Exquisite Pair of striking large giltwood and gesso mirrors, each featuring a central beveled palatial panel, flanked by smaller beveled panels. The mirrors are encased in finely detailed giltwood frames, which are adorned with intricate carvings of flowers, tassels, and ribbons. A carved floral pediment tops each mirror, with urn-shaped corner embellishments overflowing with floral motifs.
These mirrors are not only visually stunning but represent the height of decorative craftsmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century. Perfectly suited for any grand interior, they can be hung above a fireplace or used as floor mirrors in a spacious room to create a focal point of elegance and sophistication.
