Cloud Mirror is the second piece from Mia Jung, and was designed as a direct expression and response to her Cloud Console, 2018.
For Cloud Mirror, Jung, explored overlapping different shapes and layers but kept returning to her original idea; a simple oval mirror which would counterbalance the linear console. "The idea of a companion mirror for the cloud console kept re-surfacing for a few years, though creating the perfect mirror for the console was a challenge” says Jung. "I thought a lot about elemental and natural forces - the power of wind, a leaf quivering, the silent drag of the moon, a heat haze on the horizon creating a mirage like effect - elements shifting and dancing together all of which could be captured in the undulating surface of the hand poured glass and precious metals”
