Parisian Louis XVI Style 1860s Trumeau Mirror with Painted Musical Instruments
-
Description
A French Parisian Louis XVI style painted wood trumeau mirror from the mid-19th century, with musical instruments. Born in Paris during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III, this painted trumeau mirror showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. Presenting a linear silhouette, the trumeau is topped with a painted panel depicting musical instruments surrounded by delicate flowers such as roses, the ensemble being surrounded by twisted ribbons. The two pilaster-style side posts connect the upper section to the lower one featuring the vertical mirror plate accented with petite beads on its surround. With its great proportions and skilfully painted décor, this French Louis XVI style trumeau mirror circa 1860 will be a great focal point in any home, perhaps placed above an enfilade, credenza or console table.
