Rustic Tramp Art Wall Mirror With Original Mirror, Handcarved, Austria ca. 1860
-
Description
Very old, rare example of a hand-carved tramp art wall mirror, elaborately made in Austria in the period around 1860. Handcrafted from basswood, this detailed Tramp Art mirror was done in the so called "pyramid technique" and impresses with its broad frame work. An outstanding design with lovely hand-carved applications and an amazing looking "roof" on top. The original mirror glass is still present by showing some aging spots and scratches but that´s what confers this amazing Tramp Art mirror this absolutely unique rustic charm. The surface has been sealed by a semi-gloss varnish. Definitely one of the oldest and most unusual wall mirrors in our highly demanded Tramp Art collection.
