Rare dark green sunburst shape mirror in ceramic by Silvano Taiuti - Italian artist and ceramist -
Painter and ceramist Silvano Taiuti was born in Florence in 1909 and attended the Higher Institute of Decorative Arts in Monza where he moved to a teenager.
He began his artistic career as a painter and wall decorator, also taking care of exhibitions, mosaic art, stained glass, cinema and theater.
In 1933 he took part in a collective exhibition at the Galleria Il Milione in Milan
In the years after the Second World War he approached ceramics and in 1955 opened a furnace in Milan where he gave life to a very personal artistic production consisting of ceramics of use, furnishings, decorations for architecture and sculptural works, all works characterized by great inventiveness and technical expertise.
In these years the collaboration between Silvano Taiuti and Umberto Zimelli cooks his ceramics in the furnaces of the manufacture.
The production of Silvano Taiuti ceases in 1972 and this multifaceted and extravagant artist dies in Rome in 1985. -
