Description
A very large-scale Venetian mirror with an etched glass frame and original mercury plate. The glass frame showcases intricate floral and foliate motifs, delicately etched along its length. Each corner is finished with a hand-applied glass floral motif, adding dimension to the otherwise minimalist form. The central mercury plate displays evident age and soft patina. The mirror’s substantial scale and decorative detail suggest it was intended as a statement piece in a grand interior, typical of the Venetian glass tradition in the early 20th century. Italian, circa 1900.
