Description
A fine, period Gustavian sofa or settee from Stockholm, hand-scraped to the original paint, and newly upholstered with nail head trim, circa 1780. There are rosettes on the leg posts ending in tapered and fluted legs. This piece is signed twice ‘ILG’ by master chair maker, Johan Lindgren, Stockholm 1770-1800. On the frame is the paper seal from the Stockholm Chairmaker’s Guild, which is quite rare.
