Curved Sofa by Adrian Pearsall - 1960's
-
Description
This rare sofa was created by the American designer Adrian Pearsall in the 1960s. It's a comfortable sofa with a remarkable curved design, seamlessly matching the curved shape of the walnut table. The walnut table has the same height as the sofa's backrest, making the entire design well-balanced and proportional. The sofa measures W 285 cm, D 140 cm, H 75 cm, SH 45 cm and AH 20 cm. The matching table measures W 300 cm, D 100 cm and H 66 cm. This unusual Adrian Pearsall sofa with matching table is in excellent condition and priced as a set.
Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), born in Trumansburg New York, was an American architect and furniture designer. As a young man, he went to the University of Illinois and studied Architectural Engineering. He graduated in 1950. Adrian Pearsall founded Craft Associates in Pennsylvania in 1952 to manufacture his own designs. By the late 1950s his designs incorporating walnut became hugely popular. Pearsall's design pieces are mainly characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions. -
