-
Description
The Italian Compasso d’Oro award winning husband & wife team of Tobia and Afra Scarpa created multi-disciplinary designs in architecture, furniture, lighting and industrial design. Their work with Italian firm Gavina was avant-garde - including the "Bastiano" series starting in 1962. Low, deep and exceptionally comfortable. Square hardwood frames are beautifully stained - supporting sumptuous loose black leather cushions. This pair likely produced in the 1970s after Gavina was purchased by Knoll. Italy.
