Flair for Bernhardt Lounge Chair & Ottoman in Chrome/Leather/Oak after Eames
-
Description
Made in the 1970s, it pains us somewhat to call this an Eame's inspired copy since its look is so unique and makes dramatic changes compared to a 670/671. Taking a step back, they share the bentwood & leather style, but not much beyond that. This chair features a solid steel frame plated in chrome, lending a simle yet sophisticated look.
This is the first and only example we have seen that references a maker. It was made in Lenoir, NC, by a division of Bernhardt called Flair, and other examples indicate that it was distributed and retailed by Hudson's.
In good vintage and original condition. Chrome is clean and bright with no bends/deformations/pitting. Leather has seen normal use over the last half-century and is perfectly comfortable and presents well. Wood is in nice shape as well. -
