A pair of elegant armchairs designed by Carin Bryggman for Boman Oy in Finland in the 1950s-1960s. The chair bodies are in original and very good condition. The upholstery has been changed at some point.
The chairs are compact in size compared to other sizable Finnish armchairs, and are extremely comfortable to sit in. They can be put in living rooms, bedrooms, or even balconies since they don't take much space and can be easily moved single handedly, for they are light to carry.
Carin Bryggman (1920-1993) was a Finnish designer and architect, who in addition to designing furniture designed the interiors for many of her projects. The daughter of another renowned Finnish architect Erik Bryggman, Carin also had a successful and long standing career as an architect. Her many projects included hotels, restaurants, banks and office spaces. Two of her most historically significant projects would be the official residence of Finland's Arch bishop and the Academy House of Turku, Finland. She was also the first woman in Finland to set up her own architect office in 1949.
The chairs can be packed for logistics in 2 different boxes, which doesn't at all mean that it is more expensive than in 1 box. We are finally getting considerable discounts with DHL on logistics.
