Scandinavian Midcentury Easy Chair "Trienna" by Carl-Axel Acking for NK

Sold Sold
  • Description
The "Trienna" easy chair, designed by Carl-Axel Acking for NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) in Sweden, is a true masterpiece of mid-century modern design. Acking created this beautiful chair in 1957, and it was exhibited at the Triennale in Milan that same year, earning it the name "Trienna". Although the chair bears some resemblance to Børge Mogensen's iconic "Spanish Chair", Acking's design predates Mogensen's by two years. Despite its age, this chair is in very good vintage condition, with a lovely patina that includes stains, scratches, light cracks on the leather and some missing stitches. These imperfections only add to the chair's charm and character, and speak to its long and storied history. This is a truly special and unique piece that is sure to impress and delight anyone with an appreciation for mid-century modern design. Whether used as a statement piece in a living room or as a comfortable and functional addition to a home office, the "Trienna" easy chair is a true representation of the best of Scandinavian design and craftsmanship.
