Cor Alons model 500 dining chairs Gouda den Boer The Netherlands 1949
-
Description
Very nice and original set of six dining chairs model 500 designed by Cor Alons & J.C. Jansen and manufactured by Gouda den Boer, The Netherlands 1949. These chairs are made of birch plywood using the same technics Charles and Ray Eames uses. The legs consist of different layers of wood which are bent to create a round, organic shape. The original black faux leather is nice in contrast with the birch plywood. They seat very comfortable and are sturdy. Hard to find with the armchair of the same series. True Dutch design classics and a fine example how post-war Dutch furniture evolved with new ideas.
