Crafted from 5 mm thick neckleather, the DS-47 sofa by De Sede, tells a story of beauty and elegance. The design incorporates distinctive lines and features that clearly allude to the strength and power of a bull, earning its nickname "Bull" in De Sede's collection. Its use of the neck leather creates prominent and sculptural folds which reminiscent of a bull's muscular neck. This animal-like quality is enhanced by the slightly curved silhouette of the DS-47. Exactly this curvature, could be seen as a nod to the powerful, arched back of a bull. Just have a look at the "fat wrinkles" which not only provide a unique visual texture but also contribute to the sofa's robust and imposing presence.
This sofa is purchased from their original/first owners (who acquired it the 1980’s). They did not have any pets, nor were they smokers, which contributed to the sofas fresh look and feel. The leather has developed a nice patina, which matches in line with their age. So, because of this process in time and use, the leather has a rich and vintage character that enhaces their overall appeal. While, there are some signs of use, as you can see on the photos, the leather is very flexible and in an overall good condition.
